I am an advocate for mental health and addiction, as it has hit close to home since I was a child! I have been diagnosed in the last few years ..as a Highly Sensitive Person/HSP, also working through life with Overly Compulsive Personality Disorder/OCPD… both of these diagnosis are just starting to be understood in the medical world.

I am a 38 yr. old mom of four ** three sons~ Keith, 20.. Landon, 19 and Ike, 17 ** one daughter~ Aleah, 15 ** wife to my highschool sweetheart, John, 37.. we are just shy of 20 years married!.. never dull.. growing together and always believing the best is yet to come!

I myself, experienced some childhood trauma.. also survived a life altering car accident at sixteen yrs. of age.. became a teen Mom at seventeen and married my husband a month out of highschool! We adopted our youngest and fostered two older girls.
Our kids describe me as> Loving, Caring, Brave, and CrAzY! I like Urban Dictionary’s definition of Crazy: Someone who is wild and crazy. Someone who will go against the rules. Someone that does what they want.. no matter the consequences! Someone that will do anything, especially for LOVE!

I grew up in the beauty industry (my Aunt Em’s salon) and opened my first salon right out of hair school when I was twenty.. have been a salon owner ever since..

We relocated to Salina, Ks twelve years ago, after my husband/businessman became a hairdresser too. We moved here to open a larger salon> Thiessen-Elise Salon. We are in the middle of KS.. middle of Salina.. middle of the U.S.! Hence, my site> Halfway there.. was born in 2019! Another word for middle is halfway!

I truly believe we are halfway to anywhere we want to be… The biggest step is making up our mind that we are going for our goal/dream!

Let me tell you.. I am excited to travel and see more of this beautiful world, as soon as our youngest two get through highschool!
