Hello beautiful people of the world!๐โค๏ธ Are you striving to lead an authentic life?.. me too!
Have you ever started something and felt so challenged you just wanted to quit? First off.. in my opinion, it is best to never use the word quit! It’s like the quote goes, “Quitters never win and winners never quit!” I would simply say, after you have given it your all and thought things through with great consideration.. it is okay to change directions or give something else a try. We must approach life in a manner that we don’t know if we don’t try!
Have you ever really thought about what you want to be known for? If your colleagues or people in your network were asked to describe you.. what would they say? Is there a chance that you want to be remembered for something you have yet to get underway? I encourage you to get the process started!! Tomorrow isn’t promised, so we must live for today!
Are you feeling under or over qualified? I have never heard of a job where you can work less and make more! We all start somewhere! There is always room to learn and improve! Finding fulfillment has to do with facing our fears. We can’t regret the things we at least try! That being said, adjustments can be made.. we just have to approach life accordingly!
Are you human, possibly a parent and feel like you have limited time to accomplish your goals? Prioritizing is so important! Even if we don’t produce our best version of whatever we are working towards achieving because our time is limited.. we must consider life as a work-in-progress! After all, it is necessary to practice what we want to become! I honestly have realized that being a career minded business owner and mom of four, has pushed me to carve out time in my schedule for the things that are important to me. Even if in the given moment something isn’t top priority.. it doesn’t mean it can’t ever happen!
Have you ever asked someone to assist with something that you really need to do on your own? I recently asked anyone reading my blog to let me know what they wanted to hear from me. I almost immediately realized that was silly.. how could I expect others, especially those who only know me through my writing.. to tell me what they want to know? We must navigate and lead our own lives. “Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your inner voice.” -Steve Jobs
Are you keeping your life balanced or do you have an area that really needs more or less attention? The things that weigh on us the most can and should be addressed! Whether an area of our life is hindering or helping, we must make adjustments to stay on the right path.
Do you ever really think about what truly makes you happy? I have found myself envious of others in my younger years. I learned very early on that we can create our own happiness. I feel that there is no greater happiness than earning and creating the life we desire! We must remain grateful for what we do have. Remembering, it all can change in the blink of an eye.
Do you take time to appreciate all the things that are good in your life? As I type this I must say I have so much to be grateful for. I also have learned that happiness is learned through the same process as sadness. It is often in our darkest moments we realize the gifts still in front of us.. not in the way of possessions, but in the way of relationships, lessons, and experiences.
Sincerity, integrity, staying humble, working hard and the pursuit of happiness are important to me! In recently feeling heavy due to several people in my circle struggling, I began to question my abilities! One of my biggest strengths is being a highly sensitive, overly compassionate empath (an empath is one who is highly aware of the emotions around them.. to the point of feeling those emotions themselves)! This strength has also proven to be very challenging and I am forever having to remind myself to practice self-care. It helps me to remember to have boundaries, be honest and to communicate.
I am a small town KS girl with a big heart. I have many life experiences, love to share, be relatable and help others! I am a novice writer, continually working at improving my writing skills and getting it out into the world!
I vow to approach life as an ever-changing work-in-progress, challenging myself to see the best in all things! I invite you to join me!
Over the course of the last week (since my last blog entry on destructive self-criticism) the questions above have come to me. Honestly, the answers to these questions have evolved through the many life experiences I have had through growing up in some challenging circumstances, surviving a life changing car wreck, being a teen parent, a business owner, along with being a survivor of trauma to becoming a foster and adoptive parent in an effort to improve the lives of others.
I truly believe we are halfway to anywhere we put our minds to.. the first step is deciding to go for it! #Halfwaythere
Yours in Style, Amber
