Be an advocate for what you believe in! I am almost forty years old and just now realizing I truly want to be an advocate for what I strongly believe in! Meaning.. I feel called to share in the most kind, humble and helpful way! There is usually a tasteful way to say some of the hardest things!
I am an advocate for teen parents, mental health and addiction, fostering and adopting, small business, and most recently becoming a voice for those that have suffered molestation at the hands of someone they trusted! These are adversities I have and am facing head on! Resilience in the face of adversity!!
Being an advocate means to publicly recommend or support a particular cause or policy. I have found myself feeling like going into hiding to protect myself from the hard and disturbing challenges in my life and of the world, and then I remember that I am called to be a voice. If I stay quiet.. change doesn’t happen and others often believe they are facing the darkest times of their lives alone! I have been in some pretty hard positions and have had them sneak back up when least expected!
I want to encourage you and tell you that you’re worth it! You are worth being happy, healthy, successful and enjoying life! You are capable and each step in the right direction, is a step!
I honestly give props to my Granny Corz, who truly led by example! She believed in the grace of God and taught me to believe in his higher power! I truly believe that the power of prayer, along with a lot of hard work has gotten me to where I am!
If you are facing a challenge that feels impossible to overcome.. pray! Do what you can with what you have at the given time! Seek enjoyment in the small things! Believe the best is yet to come! Look to those that are advocating how to face a similar adversity as what you are facing! If it is in your means, find a talk therapist! Together we are stronger! Never lose hope!
I am determined to get the message of perseverance out into this (sometimes dark) world! Success looks a whole lot like hard work and it’s worth it!!
Love you peeps!

I am happy to share this adorable photo of our daughter, Aleah and I~ taken on her seventeenth birthday last week! Bringing her into our home when she was an infant and the long five year court battle for her to have our last name, was worth every minute we invested! Adoption changes lives!
