Seeds of Inspiration

Consider the Easter season a fresh start! I literally feel blessed to say my mom is still living, after being life-watched just after midnight on Easter Sunday last year. My youngest brother was struggling with his, let’s say 10th-ish relapse and I had recently learned about one of our sons being molested by someone we considered a close friend of 14+ years. Not to mention, my Granny Corz, who was my biggest mentor passed on Easter Sunday (her favorite holiday) a few years prior.

I could choose to be heavy and sad because this time of year has previously brought heaviness and sadness.. or I can choose to celebrate the good that has come from all of the hard.

We are stronger for the hard, heavy and treacherous parts of our journeys!! There is no such thing as a perfect Lenten season or perfect life. We are humans going through and maneuvering the best we can and know how.

We are called to find true inner conversion of our hearts. We also are called to share our time and talents! It is a season of preparing to celebrate the Lord’s resurrection. It is a time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

As I write this entry on this Holy Thursday I urge you to say a prayer for the challenges that are being faced in the world, as well as, be thankful and to be a light.. even when life feels heavy! We have a choice to be the best versions of ourselves. We can escalate or de-escalate hard times.

Truly, every day that we are gifted is a blessing. We can be upset when someone is late or we can express how grateful we are to see them. We can take the kindness of others for granted or we can tell them that their actions will be remembered! On this very day.. I made it a point to tell a dear friend of ours that he will be remembered for always giving a hug when we see him! I have thought that for a long time. I decided I should let him know his actions don’t go unnoticed!

The season of Easter has become one of my favorite times of year. I have been called to attend Mass almost every Sunday, especially as I grow more mature! Even though it’s one of the busiest times with home renovations, etc. and I could easily stay home and get started on a project. I choose to get in the right mind-frame, count my blessings and then get going on projects! Getting right with the good Lord and keeping him at the forefront of all the things in my life makes everything better!

This Easter Sunday I will spend with my mom, who is in the best position in her faith and mindset that she’s ever been in! My brother is nine months clean! Our understanding and relationship with our son has grown exponentially, since he found the courage to share with us what happened to him as a young boy!

Lent reminds us of our weakness. It also reminds us of our strength! I prayed aloud in front of my husband this morning.. to have the right words come to me for this blog entry. He surprised me by arriving at the salon, as I was starting my first client, with flowers as encouragement for today’s entry. They have a packet of wildflowers (my mom’s favorite) attached. When I plant these flowers coming up.. I am going to be reminded to be a wildflower, no matter where I am at in this world! Grow through the challenges, there is a time to bloom and a time to lie dormant.

I have no doubt the words I have written today, will help me in the future when I need to be reminded how to handle myself. It is important to bring the best version of ourselves whether we are in a storm or winning season!

Do your best and forget the rest!

Stay Rosy, Amber

Edit*** I am lying in bed with Johnny and it’s a bit after 10pm. He just read this blog entry.. he said, “did you read the back of the packet of wildflowers?” I guess I was in work mode. I did take time to stop and get a picture. He said, “I even turned the packet around!” I just went back and looked at the photo. My heart is happy and of course I decided to change my title and photo! Zoom in to see~ Seeds of Inspiration! ๐Ÿ˜‰โค๏ธ๐ŸคŸ my crazy little self.. mindlessly turned the packet around before taking the photo of just the flowers!! ๐Ÿ˜œ
