Are you happy or do you need change?! I can honestly say, I AM HAPPY! I can also say, I used to envy soccer moms that sat in my chair to get their hair colored every six weeks- often complaining about minuscule things!! Then, in about my mid-thirties it hit me that working nine-plus hours behind the chair~ often without breaks while being a mom to four busy kiddos.. shaped me to be disciplined with my time and energy!

I learned that being a soccer mom has its challenges too, just like any other job. I have also learned over time that comparison is definitely a thief of joy and contentment is a gift. That being said.. I am not perfect, in fact I am a perfectly imperfect human being that is here rooting for you and all those in my network!!

I am truly happy on a day like today.. even when I bought baby gates for babies I didn’t give birth to🤣, and serving-sized shatterproof wine (when I am almost three years sober).. oh, and cleaning supplies that are nothing out of the ordinary. Yes, that was one of the highlights of my day- a trip to Wally World to buy stuff for our Airbnb gusts that arrive this Saturday!😜 I also can say I’ve learned that I love my clients and we are known to attract likeminded people in our industry!!

I had the sweetest client right at the top of my schedule today, I feel like it’s therapy for me while she’s in my chair for her “hairapy”!! I have so many regulars that I miss people if I don’t see them as scheduled!! I can’t forget to mention my sweet client that drove an hour here and back.. she’s in her sixties and raising four more kids that she was called to parent!! I gave her the best body wave in history! She’s fun, witty, artsy, worldly and well spoken!! I want to believe I presume those qualities too! 🤍🤟

What am I getting at?! I am here to tell you to find joy, make the change, be the change, believe the best is yet to come and it does!!

I believed I could be an Airbnb host and a damn good one at that!! It’s happening after eight intense months of carefully considering, working and mastering my husband/business partner’s resistance!!👀 I know it was hard for him to have my eccentric and outspoken mom here for a week while she made my idea come alive.. painting a beautiful mural at the guest house! Our Midnight Tropical Soirée is one of a kind!!

He said I was cut off from purchases before the guest house was even complete.. so I did what any good entrepreneur would do- I took the furniture from the front room, the tv from the family room and the nice silverware right on over to be used at the Airbnb! The first guests were a success, leaving a review that it was like their own oasis and best Airbnb they’ve ever stayed at!! There has been seven bookings in the first twelve days!!

As I left work from the salon today and told my husband I was going to purchase baby gates .. and read aloud the few other things I was heading to get.. he said, “sounds expensive!” My response was, I am driving my vintage Jeep with no payment (which I truly love~ feels like vacation❤️).. I am a forty year old hard working woman and I didn’t need to be schooled on what to buy. I think he’s learning to be okay with it all. I am a strong willed, honest, realistic, boundary-pushing woman! I am a girl with a young heart and old soul! I am living my best life, even when it’s a bit stressful, chaotic and challenging!

I dare you to squeeze the good out of your life, work hard, keep balancing and most of all- remember little things are big things. For goodness sakes, I can remember being a teen mom and barely able to afford what was needed. Now I am affording small luxuries for strangers to have a bit of happiness!!

You can do anything you put your mind to!!
