WORDS MATTER!!

If something is affecting you.. it’s worth speaking up!! This morning I had a normal visit with my hubby about what I should write about. We always go over what’s prevalent between when I wrote my blog post the week prior.

Well.. we’ve had both very kind and motivating words and some very hurtful words come our way!

On the flip side~ we woke up to a sweet post yesterday .. from our daughter, Aleah, who we just moved an hour and a half away to college! She gave us an emotionally charged affirmation that she missed us and was feeling homesick. She showed appreciation for the rules, boundaries and values we’ve carried on through she and her brothers! I gave her back the words I felt necessary to help her get through the process of change! Our life is based on our values and beliefs. Life doesn’t always go as we plan, we have to trust that it will all work out!

In trying to help one of his real estate clients, John has been berated by someone who was referred to him and he just met. There is no question it got him extremely frazzled. It made me sad and flustered to see John be so upset that it was causing him to not be in the moment~ a lot!! John is normally a very calm, collected, and always thorough guy. This particular situation was causing doubts. Doubts about his ability to make the deal happen. In our talk therapy appt. on Monday our therapist asked, “how much time do you need to process and regroup after you’ve dealt with this person?” John thought about it, his response was.. “the same amount of time I’ve spent with them.” I guess that’s probably a good rule to live by>> take the time needed to regroup when life throws you lemons! There is always an underlying story of why people are the way they are! We must try to be relatable and keep pressing forward! I have no doubt John has handled himself more gracefully than most in this process and I am hopeful for the best outcome for all involved! He’s been able to confide in his mentor, who’s been in real estate for at least twenty years🤔! Fortunately or unfortunately.. however you want to look at it, we are learning and growing- especially from the hard parts that are put in front of us!

I just wanted to make a point to say that it’s normal to feel overwhelmed with life at times. We have to work through it! One of the best ways we’ve learned to stay on track is through talk therapy! We’ve been attending sessions with Bruce for about three years and plan to continue. It forces us to say the words necessary to address what needs to be, as well as, make a commitment to show up for what’s the most important in our current lives! We hands down will both give our therapist’s contact.. if you need someone that’s rational, collected, neutral, gives great examples and helps you to know what to work on! It’s one of the best decisions we’ve made as a couple! Seriously, words matter!! Communication is the key to all things! Pay someone a compliment today- you will feel good and so will they!

I truly look forward to writing each week. It’s a process that helps me to put good vibes out into the world! It’s my way of handling people and finding the right words to say things that can be hard! We have to choose how to respond and what we give our energy to! Choose to shift to a positive mindset! Do your best to choose happiness!

Decided to add this photo of Oscar doggie and I, my bestie and I while I am writing my entry this morn!🐾
