Living in the present

Living in the present has been my focus recently. I feel that I am usually pretty good at embracing the now. Although, I truly have needed quiet.. to figure out where I am headed. I have felt stressed about what direction I want to go. Especially since deciding to give creating video content another try.

I took my social media apps off my phone on Valentine’s Day and took a personal day to reevaluate what is important to me. My husband headed to see our son’s girlfriend play in her softball game- as we had planned. I plan to go to one of her games in March.

As I was sitting with my own thoughts I decided to look up Dave Hollis’s new book, Built Through Courage. As I typed in his name it came up that he had died on Saturday night. Valentine’s Day (this Tues) would have been his 48th birthday and that is the day his death was made public.๐Ÿ’” At first, I thought it was fake news! Then, I realized it was true.. after seeing his former wife had written about it too. It has been said that he had recently been hospitalized for heart problems and he died peacefully in his home in Austin. He was in the best physical shape of his life. It definitely goes to show none of us know when our days here on earth will be complete.

My heart sank.. I spent most of the listening to his book on audible. Dave first touched my life during the pandemic. During that time I watched he and Rachel’s morning show. I could tell something was off then and I told my husband. Soon after he and Rachel made public that they were divorcing, after sixteen years of marriage. I have continued to follow his story. I love his genuine, soft approach to life.

I honestly wanted to meet him someday~ I am sure there are lots of people that have felt that. Against all odds.. has risen to stardom in the self-help community.

I decided that it was worth sharing his legacy that’s definitely captured in his book!! I can only hope to touch lives the way he has! In his book, Built Through Courage, he talks about his plans for when he’s older. He also lays out all the challenges he’s faced and how he’s managed them. I am forever moved! If you are facing any personal challenges.. get this book!

I put back on my Facebook app long enough to make this post happen. I am going to continue my break for now. We’ll see what’s next!

Lots of love to you and your four kids, Dave Hollis!! Prayers for their future. I know they will always know who you were through your book!

Stay Rosy, Amber
