Facing Difficulties

As humans~ WE ALL FACE DIFFICULTIES! How we handle ourselves is up to us! Even the most polished, beautiful, well-known, successful people have challenges in daily life! No matter what chapter we come in on someone’s lives, we must remember we are meeting each other through many experiences, backgrounds, history.. we all face difficulties!

Last week felt rough for me! I admire my husband more than most! Although, finding true quality time with someone who is a workaholic can be extremely challenging. I like his attention and am definitely the girl that thinks lots of things may be wrong when things aren’t going as I hoped. Silly, right?!

Let’s just say.. I know it isn’t good to air out negative things in life, especially on social media. My goal is to let others know that squeezing the good out of what you have going will definitely bring more good! Talk therapy has been so good for us over the past five years as our kids have entered adulthood! Also, I can’t forget the power of prayer!

I love to share the best parts and remember those parts! It’s been the way I handle life since I was a little kid! I spent the day with my sis on Monday this week. It came to me that I don’t really even remember the hard parts of our upbringing that well. As my sis and I talked about some of our upbringing, I honesty had to be reminded of some of the difficulties.

For some reason my coping mechanism has been to just believe everyone is doing the best they can. Being born to teen parents.. obviously brought forth some challenges. I am more resilient than most because of the hard parts!

I know that consistently working towards being the best version of yourself, does make you the best version. As a highly sensitive person~ I notice things others don’t. I am saying, if you can put yourself in others shoes>> you will be better for it!

No matter your race, demographics, background.. you are capable of great things, if you can believe in yourself and put steps into action!! Small and consistent steps toward your goals.. is bound to get you there if you believe in yourself and put in the work!

I see a lot of young people struggling with work ethic, entitlement, depression, over-inflated egos, etc. I truly believe that these things come from not having to face difficulties. As parents we can’t take away all the problems for our kids and expect them to learn.

This very summer our nineteen year old daughter lived with her close friend and their family. Not because we thought it was the best choice for her. We decided to let her because it is exactly how she will learn to navigate life. No one can make decisions for you, except you! One thing that stands out to me is when I read a book on parenting years ago, it went on to say, “you parent by permission.” It is so true.. our kids are going to steer their own way. With guidance they can figure it out!

Today I write from the heart! I share as much of the good things in my life as I can on social media. Knowing I want to remember those parts!

Just know, I am a survivor of hard things! I am the oldest of four kids- born to teen parents, when I was grade school aged my dad survived an explosion (after spending a year in a burn unit), we lost a house to a house fire as teens, one of my brothers and I were both in life threatening car accidents during our high school years. I went on to being a teen parent, we have faced our business being robbed followed by bankruptcy, finding out one of our kids was molested by someone we thought was a close friend. My husband and I have both been personally affected by mental health and addiction in our families. I am proud to say, we have broken statistics! We are still learning from these moments daily! I have chosen to share these parts of our story in hopes to encourage others. These are a couple of the things that stick out the most! JUST KNOW, I AM BETTER AFTER HAVING GONE THROUGH ANY OF THESE SICKENING AND HARD TIMES!

1) Learn patience, by waiting for what you want!

2) Learn resilience, by believing the best is yet to come!

3) Remember to never regret your accomplishments>> especially the ones you work so hard for!

Doing your best really does take concentrated effort! We are all capable of great things! Remember, the human spirit grows strong through conflict! Everyday is a new day to make an imprint in this world. Do what speaks to your heart!
