Why I hate labels!

I hate labels because the human personality is too complex to fit inside an unrealistic concept created by society. This only serves to create more division amongst people, that is why I hate labels.

We are who we are and we are ever-evolving! Can’t we find the best in others? One of my strengths is seeing the best in others.

I have learned a lot from people that I don’t necessarily agree with. Honestly, these individuals wouldn’t even know I disagree because I feel no need to tell them! I have learned that I can still love big when I disagree. At the end of the day we are all here to live our best life… whatever that looks like!

After a recent trip to France for my niece’s wedding, I realized I don’t even agree with my husband’s approach to some things. The reality is.. as long as we have each other’s best interest at heart.. we can work through it.

No matter what happens, we are responsible for our own actions. I still believe LOVE IS THE ANSWER! Love big and believe and see the best in others!

I act like an ass sometimes too, especially when I am overly-exhausted. Forgiving and communicating is so important. My husband explained in talk therapy (after our France trip) that he thinks I only get him at a level 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. I think that’s a slight exaggeration cause he was annoyed at my perspective. Anyhoo, I am going to work on understanding him more. Crazy to think after twenty-three years of marriage we are still figuring each other out!

With the holidays upon us, I am going to strive to honor my husband, kids and extended families’ wishes. This is my favorite time of year and with some planning and heartfelt conversations I know it can be the best yet!

What I am getting at is.. don’t put your shields up too quickly just because you assume things about others. Yes, the best prediction of future behavior is to look at past behavior. Although, we all can and do change. We learn the most from things that don’t go as planned!

This past Sunday the sermon included that we should pray for our enemy/those we don’t line up with. Wow, that’s impactful!

Call me a nonconformist.. it’s the best label I can think of! I like marching to my own beat. For most of my life I have felt disconnected, discontent and disappointed because I don’t fit. Now, I realize it’s the biggest and best gift I have to offer!!
