Yes, I think it’s okay to use a few choice words and rejoice and be faith-filled all at the same time! As much as I want this beautiful season of Jesus’s birth to be blissful, I know it can be chaotic and challenging too!
Today has proven to be a testing day for my husband and I.. all while being rewarding too. I have Airbnb guests arriving anytime.. had to get our guesthouse ready early this morning before my shift at our salon. Normally my hubby, realtor John can help me get bedding on>> duvet covers.. sheets, etc. Don’t worry.. I can do it all by myself😜 Thursday mornings are his realtor meetings with the company he works at. Next up he had a coffee date with one of his friends. In the midst of his real estate meeting he had an incoming message that some of his previous real estate clients wanted to have him sell their house and draw up a contract for another asap. He excused himself from the meeting, called me to share the news. I, of course, was elated! I have been praying for him to reach his end of year sales goals. He has a contract coming in on another property he just listed too. I have dreams and goals of an event center out here at our property. We’ve been here two years and it is way too beautiful not to share with others! I am manifesting! 🧘♀️
Let’s just say, it’s extremely challenging for my husband and I to come together on how to best navigate the holiday season.. budget for gifts, Christmas music🤣, gatherings, etc. I will say the tension has been a bit less this year because we are working through it in talk therapy.
We decided after many years of loading visa gift cards and creating an event to retrieve them.. i.e… scavenger hunt, box within a box, even froze them one year😆 ..this year we wanted gifts around our tree on Christmas Day! I love this category idea .. want, need, wear, read.. I am pretty sure I am gonna add FUN and MOM’S IDEA😳
I do believe John was able to sorta regroup at his coffee time with his friend, Eric who is a pastor.. Johnny.. aka John and I listen to his messages he posts on social media. John refers to Eric as his spiritual mentor. They conversed for an hour and forgot to snap a photo. Nonetheless, from what I understand it was cathartic for them to share stories and relate. The next call I got from Johnny, he seemed frantic.. he couldn’t get our printer to work to print details for the listing he has been asked to review.. he also didn’t know how to best manage his day because he had a pretty full schedule behind the chair doing hair. He clearly figured it out by my arrival. After hanging up, I sent him a prayer and told him, “you got this!” The executive decision was to meet up after his shift at Thiessen-Elise.
This evening we dropped off Johnny’s pickup to have new tires put on, before we would be heading an hour out of town for a walk through, so John could submit an offer in his clients behalf. I went to pick it up after grabbing us dinner on-the-go and they had already delivered the truck to our place of business. I ran back to our shop, got the pickup and took it to fill the gas as he finished his last couple of haircuts. After a good-busy day we were finally headed out.. about twenty minutes down interstate, John asked me to text his clients to make sure they would be at the home they are wanting to purchase by 7pm. His phone rang shortly after and they apologized for the misunderstanding and explained that they wanted John to meet them at their current home in Salina. At that point we turned around.😬 John dropped me back off at my Jeep. He’s meeting with them now. I am finishing the thing I am passionate about~ writing a weekly blog entry that allows others to know they aren’t alone!
Johnny has recently been listening to ‘The Laws of Power’ .. he explained to me that it is best if others think it all comes easy. Well, it sort of does when you are passionate about what you are doing! It also takes consistency, grit and determination!!
One of the best quotes I found from the Laws of Power is, “Do not leave your reputation to chance or gossip; it is your life’s artwork, and you must craft it, hone it, and display it with the care of an artist. Appearing better than others is always dangerous, but most dangerous of all is to appear to have no faults or weaknesses.”
Listen.. I AM HUMAN. I sometimes get annoyed.. mostly at my hubby and kiddos. Then, I regroup. A quiet time-out, laughter and talking it out are the best medicine. Today, I am over-the-top grateful for another booking at our Airbnb during this busy season.. I am determined to purchase the last of our kiddos Christmas gifts. I am also so proud of my husband’s strategic way of handling two busy careers. The quote, “need something done, ask someone busy.”.. always makes me think of him. Moreover, I believe he is passionate about what he’s doing and it comes through in his every move.
I really am the girl that say. “sh**, f***, damn, and hallelujah! It helps me to remember I am human. Mostly I say, “what the what?” .. it is a bit more PG! 😉
Don’t forget Jesus is the reason for the season. I haven’t missed a Sunday of church for quite some time. The good Lord is what gets me through the hardest of times. It isn’t hard to believe in the power of prayer when big things are happening in your life and the best explanation is timing, believing and prayer!
We are in this life together. Let’s support each other, be relatable, be human and be our best! Love you freaks!
Stay Rosy, Amber
I am including this photo of myself.. sitting at a stop light on the way home, feeling so human, a bit wired and ready to take on the world; after a skinny vanilla latte with extra shot of espresso that I downed ..at the point I thought we’d be on a three hour escapade out of town. Maybe some gift wrapping will take place.. keyword>> maybe!😵💫
