Life Goals

Navigating life goals while being married takes communication, compromise and commitment! After twenty-three years of marriage I must say, some of the challenges my husband and I faced early on in our relationship, still remain challenges! It is an ever evolving process to line up individual goals and couple goals! Talk therapy has helped us tremendously.. talking it out with a neutral party whose goal is to help you work through things.. is the best choice we’ve made!

We started out as teen parents.. the struggle was real. I can definitely say that being the best parents possible has been both of our goals. It has been extremely challenging at times! Addiction and mental health have been at the forefront of both my husband and I’s upbringings. It has showed its colors in our immediate family too!

Today, as I write this entry, I feel excited and nervous for my future! I continue to work alongside my husband and business partner! We are working towards taking John’s real estate endeavors to the next level! Being work colleagues and married is a bit wild at times! Don’t kid yourself.. it has both good and hard moments! I would say that figuring out what financial freedom looks like, intimacy and feeling like a priority are the biggest struggles for me! I give my husband and business partner great props for being so dedicated to work.. I also think it’s equally important to turn off work and truly be together!

1. Caring/Safety, 2. Understanding, 3. Respect, 4. Devotion/To be Cherished, 5. Validation, 6. Reassurance/ Affirmation.. are six areas that are listed as the most important things to women. I would say they line up in reverse order for me.πŸ™ƒ

I am so excited to take our goals to the next level.. I also feel myself erring on the side of caution! I believe contentment is a gift and I also believe in reaching our full potential! In other words, life is a balancing act! I will forever be humble, vulnerable and choose happiness! My life has my name all over it! I am gonna navigate as tastefully, authentically and gracefully as possible! I am here to share and encourage others! You are not alone in your struggles. Even in the highest and most pivotal moments of our lives there are still challenges! Do your best and forget the rest!
