Get your ego out of the way!

I came across a post of my dear friend yesterday and it was a podcast by Cy Wakeman on co-creation. It was very interesting to me. I got a big message from it>> we have to get our egos out of the way in order to live our best life!!

It’s wild to me to think that for years I have felt like I didn’t fit in certain social groups or that I was inferior to others. Now that I am a forty-two year old woman.. I clearly realize that how people handle you is a big reflection of them. How we respond is a big reflection of us!!

I am doing my best to accept that if people don’t approach you maybe they are having a bad day, maybe they are trying to meet a deadline, maybe they feel inferior or even above you. Honestly, it’s crazy to think how shitty humans can be to each other!

I do believe that we should surround ourselves with those that wholeheartedly believe in us. We should do our best to allow new friendships to evolve! My life’s motto is believing the best in others.. sometimes it has proven otherwise!๐Ÿ˜‘ A majority of the time I think it’s the best way to live!

I have worked in customer service for over twenty years! I hope I never make anyone feel unwelcome! I do know that it is so important that anyone on a team should be trained to say hello, make good eye contact and be warm and inviting.. after all, whoever steps place in your business is a customer or a potential customer! We all have a choice of where to do business!

I also wholeheartedly believe we should be all-inclusive and engaging with our colleagues and customers alike! If we put off a hurried vibe, uninterested or distracted ..it feels ugly!

Our ego is a person’s sense of self-esteem or self-importance. I have seen smart people dumb themselves down, people that are overly confident and pompous, people that keep themselves in the middle cause they are so relatable!

My goal is to stay humble while knowing I am worth it, love myself as I love others and keep my ego in check! We are all from different walks of life.. we have to live with how we handle ourselves. I am not sure how some people sleep at night. I am guessing they don’t realize how they come across to others.

If we feel disappointed that someone doesn’t greet us, it is our ego getting in the way too. Yes, I believe in strong social cues and manners. I also know some people are shy and some are just assholes- we can’t let it paralyze us. We have to shield ourselves from their toxic and negative energy and traits and connect with people who bring good juju. I try to never assume the worst in others.

A good way to predict people’s future behavior is to look at their past behavior. Although, PEOPLE CAN CHANGE. I think people can change for the better through hard experiences! We can let things help us or draw us back.

The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be! Choose your actions carefully and wisely>>> we must remember there is always room to learn and grow!
