The wisdom we can gain from our elders is irreplaceable! The lessons they’ve already learned are inconceivable!
Just over a year ago I made the commitment to visit my dear friend, Mary’s husband, Bernie after she passed on (she was on hospice at the end of her life). They don’t really have any family here and that was one of her biggest concerns.. I totally understand why!
I go every Wednesday for about an hour, take a snack and make sure to be the best company I can>> with listening ears and an open heart! I have learned a lot.. reiterating that tomorrow isn’t promised, life is short and each day is a new start!
Bernie sometimes beats himself up for working so hard~ being on the job away from his sons. What I know, is he was doing his best .. financially providing for his loved ones.
I would definitely say older people get softer and realize their shortcomings. It is probably best if someone can remind them of their achievements and incomings!
I have realized that little things become even bigger!.. like the grass growing and flowers blooming, bible verses, your abilities to do and not do, all the things we should truly consider!
We are all shaped by our life experiences and if we take time with an elder and gain some wisdom.. our hardships may be less seldom!
Learning from each other is all we can really do! Starting to try is never too soon!
Wisdom is having the quality of having experience, knowledge, good judgment and being wise! Some individuals are wise beyond their years.. they have faced hard things and learned from others.. approaching life differently with each new sunrise!
Make time for an elder and see your thoughts change. Honestly, you will never be the same!
Stay rosy, Amber🤍🤟
