Never lose the kid within you!

“Go back. Way back. To that little girl walking around barefoot on the sidewalk in the summer sun. Worry less. Be like her.” -Introverted Hippie ….I came across this quote today and it made my heart happy to think about being a kid. The happy moments where there was no worry or care. For me, I often found that at my Granny Corz’s.

Today, I am writing my blog entry late. I got in some time with our oldest son, Keith this morning.. I was excited to wear my new heart-shaped shades I ordered on Amazon.๐Ÿ’• I only had one hair client, fit in a Jeep cruise with my dear friend.. Kris to get dirty Dr. Peppers> my new fave sonic drink! Next up, was straight home to be a kid! I sunbathed and enjoyed the sprinkler to cool me off as our doggies enjoyed it even more! I was feeling very domesticated and made a yummy dinner~ pork flautas with pineapple salsa. I was inspired by a phone chat with my mom- to make dessert, banana pudding with real bananas and graham crackers was what I scrambled up!!

I am a highly sensitive person and it has both good and hard qualities. The good is feeling so deeply about the smallest of things.. a flower blooming, the smell or texture of your favorite blanket, your connection with wildlife and pets. The hard part can be the moments that you can’t get out of your head that hurt the most. Moments that others wouldn’t even realize could be painful. Nonetheless, we preserver! In my mind it is much like being childlike~ so resilient!!

I encourage you to do whatever takes you back to your youth. Live life in a way that keeps you connected to what makes you the happiest! Never forget where you came from. Take the best from it!!

There is always a reason to do what makes you happy! Life is all about living your best life. Self-care is so important. I am constantly working on not feeling guilty to about downtime. I have learned that time to enjoy life is more than necessary!! It helps with creativity, health, and replenishes our attention, improves our motivation, and encourages productivity. We need to rest, recharge, and rejuvenate our bodies and minds.

Individuals who are highly sensitive (like myself) most likely need more downtime. It is okay to take time for yourself. Giving yourself the grace you give others is more than necessary! After all, we are human!
