#HalfwayThere #HalfwayToAnywhereYouPutYourMindTo

About six years ago, I asked my husband a question that still echoes in my heart:
“What am I even doing with this blog?”
His response?
“You’re writing about facing adversity to inspire others.”
That has stuck with me.
The beginning of 2025 has been full of huge accomplishments (yay!)—and, if I’m honest, a fair share of real struggle too (whew!). I don’t always share the messy middle while I’m in it. When emotions are raw, it’s easy to come across differently than intended. And I do believe there’s always a way to say hard things with grace (heart first, always!)
This year, our oldest son Keith and I joined my husband John in forming The Klassen Group (family dream team!).
Talk about a learning curve (hello, new hat!)
Studying contracts, laws, and regulations—and taking licensing exams at 43 years old (gulp)—has stretched me in every direction. But I’m doing it!! Even when it feels like climbing a mountain in heels (and spilling my coffee)
In just the last few weeks, we’ve had three deals fall apart:
One got tangled up in estate complications and multiple decision-makers (not ours to control) One client chose another realtor—likely due to a cultural connection—after we gave a lot of our time and advice (ouch, but we wish them well!) And what I thought would be my first listing? It went another direction (sigh)
At home, life has handed us more plot twists:
Our central heat and air went out… the new unit was a hefty investment (hot and bothered, literally!) My husband’s pickup needs $3,000 worth of repairs (more deep breaths!) And most heavily, our youngest son is facing serious health concerns—possibly Crohn’s Disease (please keep him in your prayers)
In the midst of it all, we’ve been working around the clock (and then some) to renovate and get Keith and his girlfriend moved into our investment property. It had way more to fix than we planned (welcome to real estate!) but we’re inching closer every day.
Through all this, Keith and I completed a RENE (Real Estate Negotiation Expert) training—and one of my biggest takeaways was discovering our unique team dynamic:
John is a methodical driver (the anchor) Keith is an analytical amiable (the brain) I am an amiable enthusiast (the heart and hype!)
And let me tell you—this trifecta works (dream team energy!)
We’re learning to lean into each other’s strengths and play on each other’s strings. I truly believe we are a force to be reckoned with (watch out, world!)
Here’s the truth I want to leave with you today:
You don’t have to feel ready. You just have to begin.
And through the messy and hard parts—we find our strength.
Every challenge teaches us, stretches us, and refines what we’re made of.
Life will never stop throwing curveballs (and bills, and repairs, and surprises!)
But growth happens in the discomfort. We don’t regret the things we try—only the things we were too afraid to pursue.
So if you’re reading this and questioning your own journey, I hope this reminds you to keep going. You can do hard things.
Stay rosy,
Amber
