As much as we hope others meet our expectations, it doesn’t always work out that way!
Unmet expectations happen to everyone. We must learn from these experiences and press forward.
Expectations have to be spelled out. We as people are interesting because we all interpret things differently.
Leading by example is the best way I have found to show expectations!
Communication and building trust is how we move towards expectations.
When hard things arise we must meet those experiences with the most positive attitude we can. Consider the hard parts as a small part of our career and life.
As I write this entry, I must say my husband and I are both learning and setting forth expectations in our most recent endeavors. We have both been presented some challenges. Figuring out expectations of others and having our own expectations met are both important.
Navigating new territory can be especially challenging.
The pep talk you may need and I definitely need today is .. to remember your own strengths and experiences thus far. I think we often know what needs to happen, it can just be difficult and uncomfortable to get there.
With each day, week, year we learn and develop. If someone is continually putting unmet expectations in front of you.. it is more than necessary to address! I was once told, you have to care enough to confront! These words have stayed with me! Some unmet expectations can easily be put by the wayside, others need to be handled right away!
If life is busy and a situation continues to be a thorn in your side.. address it! Most likely whoever is on the other side is struggling too.
I would never want to give up the experiences and wisdom I have gained this far! I also believe it is necessary to continually evolve and grow!
I must had that meeting yourself with some grace, humor and rest is life changing! With each new day we are given a new opportunity!
