Donna Ashworth said this so well>> “What is Christmas magic, other than the absolute devotion of someone determined to create it? That magic takes a lot of work. Add to that, the mental mother-load of considering every family member’s needs, wants and wishes, for the entire festive season, as well as your normal to-do list; and you have a sack of responsibility larger than Santa has ever seen in his life. It’s too much. Perhaps we can let some things slide this year? Pick your favourite traditions, leave some aside and get comfortable with a little imperfection for the holidays?”
I LOVE THE HOLIDAY SEASON.. I also am learning to delegate, know my limits, communicate better and remind myself, “I can say NO to some things cause it isn’t best for me!” ๐คทโโ๏ธ I hope others will do the same.. especially my fellow moms who keep so many balls in the air!! As well as, people pleasers, like me… we have to remember we are people too!
My favorite Christmas traditions have become drawings for gifts- cause it doesn’t put so much pressure on me, I love midnight Mass~ cause after all; Jesus is the reason for the season! I also love that my husband started the tradition with our kiddos to share an Act of Kindness they’ve done for others during the holiday season! Traditions don’t have to be hard!!
Someone in the fam does have to take the initiative to make them happen! My Mom started the midnight Mass tradition for our family and it always makes me feel warm and cozy, it’s a different ambiance at midnight and is a reminder of what the season is really about!
I did recently go to Hobby Lobby and found that all these FuN Grinch items were 60% off and I couldn’t resist purchasing some! Wildly, I am in a position in life where I have a little extra disposable income from our Airbnb earnings! My sis recommended brunch for our family celebration and I thought Grinch Brunch sounded awesome! There are so many cute ideas for Grinch themed foods and I love the thought of seeing our nieces and nephews light up for the Grinch experience!๐โฅ๏ธโจ
After all, we have our first grandbaby now and Grinch is so whimsical for young and old alike!! Baby Jack will eventually be able to feel the magic of Christmas~ just like how he makes it magic for us!!!
REMINDER>> DO WHAT YOU CAN WITH WHAT YOU HAVE! Practice self-care, allow yourself to enjoy the moments- good and hard! Honestly, the hard parts let us truly feel when things are good! Heartache wouldn’t exist if love didn’t exist! Do your best and forget the rest!!
