Sometimes the “yes” simply lives on the other side of persistence ✨
The older I get, the less I enjoy hearing the word no.
Maybe it’s because life has taught me how much courage it takes to dream in the first place. Maybe it’s because after raising four kids, building businesses, surviving hard seasons, loving people through their messes and my own… I know how much work goes into believing something is possible.
When I was younger, I was an absolute firecracker 😜
Bold. Emotional. Passionate. Determined.
I’d charge toward things headfirst without overthinking every possible outcome.
Somewhere along the way, life humbles you a little.
Responsibilities pile up.
Loss happens.
People disappoint you.
Deals fall apart.
You hear “no” more times than you can count.
And if you’re not careful… you slowly start shrinking pieces of yourself to protect your heart from disappointment.
But lately?
I’ve realized something.
I don’t want to lose the firecracker version of me 🔥
Not the immature version… but the woman who still believes there’s always a way forward when you care deeply enough.
Because the truth is — life rarely hands us easy yeses.
Real estate and building The Klassen Group has reminded me of that in a big way. One deal can feel smooth as butter while the next feels like climbing uphill in the mud 😅 There are financing issues, inspection surprises, timing problems, negotiations, emotions, contracts, and moments where you think:
“Are we seriously doing this again?!”
But honestly?
In a lot of ways, I’ve been preparing for this career my whole life.
Owning a business teaches resilience.
Raising four kids teaches problem solving.
Marriage teaches compromise and grit.
Life teaches adaptability.
When you’ve navigated family struggles, busy schedules, financial stress, emotional seasons, and still managed to keep showing up for people… you learn that “no” is often just an invitation to get creative.
And sometimes finding your way to the yes means:
• learning something new
• changing your approach
• asking better questions
• swallowing your pride
• trying again tomorrow
• or simply refusing to quit on something you care deeply about 🤍
Passion has a funny way of pulling us forward even when obstacles try to slow us down.
I think maturity is realizing life won’t always cooperate with our plans… but growth is deciding we won’t let that steal our spark.
So here’s to finding the firecracker again 💥
The wiser version.
The steadier version.
The version that knows storms exist… but still believes beautiful things are worth fighting for.
Because maybe the goal isn’t avoiding the “no.”
Maybe the goal is learning how to keep finding our way to the “yes.” 🤍
