Somewhere in the Middle of It All 🌹 | #HalfwayThere

There is a quiet, reflective place I keep finding my way back to—somewhere between the noise and the stillness, the giving and the receiving, the becoming and the unbecoming—where I pause just long enough to realize that life rarely lives in extremes, but instead unfolds in the soft, steady in-between.

I know I’m an ambivert—someone who carries both introverted and extroverted qualities. I genuinely LOVE people, conversation, connection and being social, but I also need quiet and time alone to recharge. Which side of me shows up more often depends on how full—or empty—my tank is.

I LOVE people. I love connection, conversation, celebrations, making things special and showing up for the people I love. I’m also highly sensitive, so I notice the little things and tend to feel other people’s emotions pretty deeply.

I notice the little things, feel things deeply, and tend to absorb the emotions and energy around me. These are parts of myself I’ve come to appreciate, but I’ve also learned I need regular stillness to reset so I can keep showing up as the warm, connected, present person I want to be. šŸ¤

And life is definitely FULL right now.

Real estate with The Klassen Group is hoppin’! šŸ” Being organized is so important in this work, and I’m grateful for the strengths we each bring. My husband is incredible at keeping things structured and moving forward, and Keith is such a help with paperwork and details. I get to lean into my strengths too—communication, client care, connection, and all the little touches that help people feel seen and cared for.

And after 26 years as a hairdresser, I’m also in a season of refining and simplifying my schedule at the salon—moving toward 3 intentional days a week behind the chair. It’s something I’ve been feeling into for a while now: creating more space so I can continue to love the work deeply, without running myself empty.

I’ve also been reflecting on something deeper in me… I am a natural giver. It’s just who I am. I love to show up, help, support, anticipate needs, and pour into the people I care about. It feels natural, almost instinctive.

And in that, I’ve also been learning something important.

My husband has gently been helping me grow into more of a ā€œmatcherā€ā€”not to take away my giving heart, but to help me notice balance. To pause and ask: Is this mutual? Is this sustainable? Am I also receiving, or only pouring out?

It’s been a stretching and beautiful shift. Because I don’t want to stop being a giver—I just don’t want to lose myself in it.

I’ve also learned how much my environment affects me. For years, starting the week with a clean home has been a priority. There’s something about order around me that helps create order within me too.

So Tuesdays have become my marathon housework days. šŸ˜‚ I’ve hired help before, and while I appreciated it, it just didn’t feel quite the same. Now I pay our daughter to help with the floors—which is a huge gift—and I take care of the rest. It’s one of my resets.

The days surrounding the baby shower for our soon-to-be grandbaby Everette were a beautiful reminder of this in-between space. There was so much joy, preparation, emotion, and love—but also a stretch where I could feel I was running on empty.

I didn’t feel quite as warm and present as I normally do, and instead of judging that, I’m learning from it.

I know myself.

I need people and solitude. I love a full life, but I don’t need every part of it to be full. I need meaningful work, my people, an organized home, quiet mornings, some evenings with nothing planned, and space to come back to myself.

And I also need balance in my giving—learning when to pour, when to pause, and when to receive.

I’ve learned that honoring those needs doesn’t pull me away from the people I love—it actually brings me back to them more fully.

So this is my reminder to myself today, right here in the middle of it all:

Stay rosy, Amber šŸŒ¹šŸ¤šŸ¤Ÿ

You’re halfway there.

Keep learning. Keep making room for stillness. Keep honoring your giving heart—but also the part of you learning to receive. Keep appreciating the beautiful, full life you’ve built—and remember you don’t have to run empty to live it well. šŸ¤

What have you learned about what fills your cup—and what are you learning to make more room for?
